Fully Furnished Cabin Tour!
We drove down to Georgia to decorate this cabin in a period of about ten days....and what a crazy ten days it was! At just under 2,400 square feet, and with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, the process of getting the cabin entirely outfitted in such a short time was no easy task (and with all of the furniture delays, no less). Thankfully, we had some help from family who drove down and to unload the moving truck, build furniture, and all sorts of things. At 6 months pregnant, I was so grateful to have some extra hands!
Here is a full tour of the cabin, post furnishing! I am not including photos of the bathrooms and laundry in this post to keep it from getting too long! You can find those in the rental listing. We definitely have some projects in mind for the future, including replacing light fixtures inside and out, paint in some of the bedrooms, basement flooring, some kitchen updates, and more! We can't wait for future stays where we can both enjoy the peace and quiet, embark on some beautiful hikes, and tackle small projects!

Exterior
We love the exterior of the cabin. It's traditional log siding and metal roof evoke a "mountain getaway" feeling, which is exactly what we were looking for when house hunting. We wanted something that was both remote, and in the woods/mountains, but also that wasn't altogether far from necessary amenities. We stumbled upon exactly that in the Lookout Mountain Lodge.
Living Room
This is the room that totally sold us on the house. Waking into this space is like a breath of fresh air. The high ceilings, abundance of natural light, floor to ceiling fireplace, and wood walls are stunning! We can't wait to make many more family memories here! More about this room here.
Kitchen
We did not do much to the kitchen at all, and likely won't (aside from lighting and some more accessories) this year. This kitchen boasts high end finishes and tons of storage. It's functional and utilitarian, and a great space to prepare a meal! Someday, we'll likely add some open shelves, a new backsplash, and replace the island. For now, we love the cabin vibe and enjoy cooking together in this space!
Upstairs Primary
The "Ralph Lauren" room, and my favorite room in the house! The Pendleton blanket, indigo pillow, and horse artwork embody a Western vibe, reminiscent of one of our favorite trips to Montana. We added a rocking chair (with baby in mind!) which creates a cozy corner. We lucked out finding such a beautiful West Elm dresser at their store in Georgia; it fits the room perfectly!
Office/Loft
With a lot of individuals working-from-Airbnb, we thought the loft would be best utilized as an office space. Over the railing is a view of the tip of the mountain's brow. Natural light absolutely fills this room and provides a great space to focus and get some work done.
Deck
Ah, the deck...an incredibly peaceful, idyllic outdoor living space overlooking the mountain and nearby lake. We spent hours chatting on the Adirondack chairs and working from the table, enjoying the breezy air on Lookout Mountain. This makes the cabin feel even larger, as it is a natural extension of the home.
Main Floor Primary
Another room that turned out so cute! We went for "modern mountain" in here, and did so by balancing all of the pine with streamline decor. The plaid flannel is from one of our favorite road trips to Vermont. I love the way the plaid plays with the aztec pillow. Mixing patterns is very "camp style!" This cozy corner chair from Target creates a nice additional space to sit or read.
Lower Level Living Room
We had a lot of fun with this space! This large, open family room is a great space to watch some football, for kids to play, or for a night of ping pong. To bring "camp style" downstairs, we installed a gallery wall, mostly comprised of vintage pieces we collected from various antique shops, along with some college football pennants (I'm sure you can figure whose idea that was!). We'd like to extend the gallery all the way to the left, and also replace the flooring down here (likely, with a fun, plaid carpet!). We've gone back and forth about painting down here, just to give the room another flavor...perhaps hunter green. We will do a vote on instagram, something tells me there would be a lot of pine-lovers sad to see this beautiful grain get covered, and I can't say I disagree! We also found this velvet West Elm couch to be SO comfy for lounging or taking a nap!
Lower Level Guest Bedroom
Contrary to the rest of cabin, this room is rather soft and sophisticated with neutral colors. We basically had to drive all the way back to the cabin to complete this room and the bunk room, which were the only spaces we left pretty scarce the first trip down. Over Labor Day, we whipped these two together. We made a pitstop at IKEA on the way, and picked up the dresser and nightstands. The artwork was a gift from a super sweet homebuyer client of Ty's!
Bunk Room
This room was tough considering the layout, the little natural light, and the time constraint. We spruced up the once-boring room with a fun, cushy rug, some whimsical artwork, camp blankets, and embroidered pillows. This is one room we may paint in the future to add some more light, but for now, it turned out pretty cute!
Neighborhood
I really just can't get enough of the surrounding neighborhood! I miss our evening walks, and the sounds of the rustling trees during the day and crickets at night. Exploring the neighboring grounds made us fall deeper in love with the Lookout Mountain Lodge!
