Announcing Our Next Flip!!!
HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! We closed on our next project, the #EGRBungalow in East Grand Rapids, and are so excited to restore every inch of this beauty. This flip is going to be totally different than anything we've done.....and here's why
We are not moving in! I know, I know, you don't believe me. Oh ye of little faith. But really, this is a "true flip," meaning we will be renovating the house, and then selling it right away. In the past, we have lived in each property throughout the renovation. While we enjoyed many unique experiences living in our flips (like wrecking copious amounts of clothing and having to brush our teeth in the bath tub regularly), not moving in is being welcomed with open arms! To think, after long days of painting and messy renovation and demolition, we get to come home to our clean, completed home. OH THE LUXURY! Unless, of course, we sell the Holland lake house and go after another on the lake shore...........
There is another reason why this flip will look different than anything we've done before! We have a partner! We’ve joined forces with a seasoned house flipper, my mom! We will be handling the entire design, layout, and marketing. My mom will be coordinating the renovation. Ty and I will be not be doing much of the physical labor. As much as we love to be "hands on," our schedules, at this time, are growing more and more limited. Joining forces with my mom’s flipping business with enable us to say yes to other opportunities and focus more on our careers! Now, don't think we are totally off the hook....you'll likely see me laying some tile floors and a backsplash! There are a few renovation "chores" that I actually love; tile work is one of them!
This home has GREAT bones, but needs a lot of love. Along with cosmetic updates, we'll also be adding a bathroom, installing a new roof, painting the entire exterior, and changing the layout of the second floor completely. In addition to the sneak peeks in this post, we will be sharing a full tour soon, and the design plan soon after! The style of this home will look a little different than what we usually do...much more traditional than our typical style! Think darker colors, oak, soft lines, and natural products like marble and soapstone. We want to highlight the existing character and keep the home "true" to its era. Here's a little sneak peek!
Stick around as we will be diving into more detail on the PODCAST! Episode 2 will be about how to find a flip in a competitive market, including how we picked up this gem in a crazy hot market like East Grand Rapids!
Can't wait to take you on a tour!
