Living Room Refresh!
I am in major nesting mode over here! When Ty flew down to FL to check on the new build a few weeks ago, I felt a strong desire to redecorate. He came home to new artwork in many rooms of our home, a new living room rug, and some other miscellaneous changes throughout the house. All of the work that I have put into designing the Florida build has made me feel as though our "personal style" is a bit lighter and more minimal than what we had going on in our house. I loved the darker color scheme and cozy elements in our home, but it just wasn't feeling quite right and I felt drawn to both lighten and minimize our space.
Swapping out some of our vintage artwork with minimal beachscapes altered the feel of the house immensely. Like a breath of fresh air, each new piece hung on the walls felt right. But the biggest change? Swapping our living room rug. I envisioned changing out our rug for something light with a subtle pattern.
I searched what felt like the entire web for the perfect piece! My non-negotiables were:
Light. A mix of whites and beiges, but not too boring or solid.
Soft. We'll be spending a lot of time on the floor with a newborn and toddler!
Not wool or jute. Ty is allergic to wool and jute which limits my options significantly! I find myself drawn to wool (love the texture!). Limiting my options to cotton, polyester, polypropylene, etc. definitely made the hunt more challenging!

Revival has a variety of fiber options from wool to jute to polyester. I selected the Soloba rug in Bone Beige. I also considered the Gambit and the Yucca. If it weren’t for a wool allergy, I would definitely order one of the Tschudi!
Thank goodness I ended up with a washable rug as I have already had to clean up an entire cup of coffee that Brooks poured onto the rug! In just a few minutes, I got it out with mild soap, water, and a clean towel. Phew! I'm sure we will be even more grateful to have a washable rug once baby girl arrives!
I have to add...the best thing about the rug is how incredibly soft it is. Ty and I were both floored (no pun intended) when we took it out of the box. It is the softest rug we have ever had. Everyone who has been over to our home since we got the rug comments on it!
