San Jose Flip Kitchen Design
The San Jose flip (also known as the EGR flip) is coming along! We just got the cabinets installed. Soon, the quartz counters will be installed followed by the kitchen backsplash! We also have an exterior door and a couple of sconces to replace and some paint touch up to tackle. And finally, after staging and styling, our darling home on San Jose will be on the market!
We want this house to feel cozy and traditional yet fresh and updated. To stay true to the original character of the home, we are keeping the original hardwood floors. We have selected greige cabinets for the majority of the kitchen with contrasting white cabinets for the floor to ceiling pantry wall. The countertops will be a leathered quartz, reminiscent of black soapstone. The always lovely Cloe tile in white square will be installed from counters to ceiling in a brick joint pattern.
Brass accents will add balance to the cool tone of the cabinets. We installed this flush mount light (which I love and have used many times!) and have these knobs picked out.
Each kitchen we design is accessorized with a great rug, some art, greenery, and pottery. I have sourced quite the collection of these items thrifting and antiquing over the last few months.

We kept the overall layout of the kitchen as it was already an efficient use of space. We are replacing the microwave with a custom hood, and removing the upper cabinets to the left of the sink in lieu of shelving. The open space near the window should make the room feel larger and more open.
Across from he kitchen is a darling bay window. We already replaced the dining light fixture with the same one that we have in our house! We love the soft linen shade and brass detail on the cord. I can't wait to hang some artwork on the adjacent wall and stage the dining room!
There will be another upper cabinet to the right of the range next to a custom hood! We'll be installing crown above the cabinets as well. The existing fridge will be swapped for a counter depth version which will make a huge difference!
