We are Moving!... (Again)

Finally, I get to share the news we've been keeping a secret for the past few weeks... WE ARE MOVING!

I know, I know, we JUST finished the full renovation on our condo. We adore our new place, the design, and the neighborhood. It's a dream, and we have truly enjoyed every minute of our time here. However, it's not natural for us to stay in one place. Rather than list out "why" we are moving, it would be easier to tell you how this all came about.

My parents were on the hunt for another flip. Ty and I had plans to meet them at a property that had been sitting on the market for a few months. We show houses multiple times a week, often every single day. When we are looking for the right flip, we may take them through 20 homes before finding the right one. Needless to say, we didn't think much of this meeting.

Now, I should preface by saying that we were NOT looking to move. I will admit that every day, I look at every single new listing within 50 miles, 'just in case' something interesting catches my eye, but that is more of an I'm-obsessed-about-houses-and-don't-know-how-to-chill-out type of habit than anything. We were not actively looking for a new home.

Next, I basically cried at the amount of windows surrounding the main living area. Natural light FLOODED the space. Off the family room was a massive three seasons porch entirely surrounded by FLOOR TO CEILING windows. There was an ugly drop ceiling; we (well, Ty, because #spiders) pushed one of the ceiling tiles aside to reveal a vaulted wood ceiling.

The bathroom was accessorized with mid century orb light fixtures, basically the exact same one's that are in Mandy Moore's new mid century kitchen which I have been worshipping for the last 2 months (GOOGLE IT. YOU'RE WELCOME).

We actually have a few videos of this tour! You know we like to share home walk throughs on our insta stories, and this home was one we documented. I am so glad we have these videos, because they show this "love at first sight" situation. Will share soon.

After walking through the house (by 'walking' I mean 'prancing and squealing'), we knew we needed to sit down and discuss whether or not we were serious about moving. Ty and I drove to frozen yogurt (because food cures emotional turmoil) and chatted. We quickly came to the conclusion that we were being emotional and impulsive. We weren't ready to move! What were we thinking!? We walked away from the house, and laughed at ourselves for even considering leaving our new condo which we had worked so hard on.

Fast forward one month. Saturday morning over coffee, Ty says, "Babe, I think about that house every day." We discussed the situation in detail, analyzing the costs, determining what selling our flipped condo could mean for our future (ie. attacking those student loans). We (I) considered how much we (okay mostly me) would love renovating again, getting to redesign every inch of the midcentury gem. We learn so much with every flip and new build. We considered the experience we would garner with this massive project, further fine tuning our approach to general contracting. After a few days of prayer, thought, and discussion, we decided to go for it.

We knew this home was meant for us. There were all kinds of serendipitous "signs" that we may share one day, but essentially, God threw this house in our faces and said, "MOVE." I'm not fully sure of his plans, but I know our next chapter is in the Chandler house (which is it's name by the way, we will share the story behind that at a later date ;)

We always tell our home buyers that when we find you your home, you will know. You might not be able to verbalize what it is about the property that makes you know, but you will be sure. "Home" is a feeling.

OK, you got a few "sneak peeks" of the interior in this post...full tour coming soon, I promise!)
