A Weekly Recap: September in FL
I always have intentions to share more about HTH news, Beach People Properties updates, home projects, and other pieces of life with y’all on Instagram but can never seem to find enough time in the day to do so! My little shadows (Brooks and Sutton Kate) tend to be their noisiest whenever I hop on to take a quick video for Instagram. So, I thought a weekly (or monthly, we’ll see how this goes!) brain dump might be a great way to share all of the miscellaneous things with you all! I love bullet points, so this new segment will be in bullet point form!
Home Projects
I finally got around to tree shopping! I stopped by Clay on 30A and was thrilled to find a 6’ Aubrey Ficus! Am I nervous about keeping this pretty lady alive in our living room? Absolutely.
I also ordered a new rug for our living room. I told Ty that once my design business hit a certain milestone, I was going to order my dream rug. I can’t be the only one motivated by rugs instead of designer purses or shoes, right? My design business hit that milestone last week so this rug is on its way!
We are selling our guest bedroom bed and nightstands. I love the way that our guest room turned out, but we are finding that we are in major need of a play room! We will be swapping out the existing furniture for a sleeper sofa, plush rug, kids table, and toy storage.
I ordered the viral floral jute rug for the kids’ bath. SO darn cute for $19!
Hannah Tyler Home
Our Carillon Beach new build project is getting shower tile! Tile installation is such an exciting phase of new construction. After months and months of studs, rough-in, and other “boring” progress; we get to finally see some of the design come to life…colors, textures, patterns…I can’t wait to share more photos of this house!
Speaking of Carillon Beach, HTH will be embarking on a carriage house renovation this fall as well as another new build that will break ground any day!
A Watersound Origins furnishing project is moving along wonderfully. We ordered a fabulous oushak rug, a neutral striped rug, a pretty cane bed, and travertine lamps, among many other things. The custom made sofa will be delivered next week and I can’t wait to share it with y’all! It is from the manufacturer who will be making sofas that I will (one day) be selling here on the website!
We’re wrapping up a fun airbnb design project in Fort Walton! I’ll be sure to share the rental link once it is completed.
A Churchill Oaks new build is breaking ground in just a few short weeks.
Another Churchill Oaks home got some new accessories in the living room!
End of the month, we’ll be furnishing a new build in Blue Mountain Beach, top to bottom.
We just delivered a bedroom design to a Michigan client. Shop some of our picks here!
Lastly, a new rental under Beach People is getting new living room furniture, porch furniture, paint, and lighting. So far, we’ve installed these porch chairs and they are gorgeous for the price!
Beach People Properties
We are on boarding 4 more homes to beach people this fall!
Last week, we launched Sandcastle Dreams which is a large house that sleeps up to 14. We just freshened up the porches with brand new porch furniture. We will be slowly updating the interior with new paint, some new lighting, and some new furniture!
The new properties this fall will triple our portfolio! We are having a blast building this business…it has grown up much more quickly than we could have anticipated. To manage the new growth, we will be adding an intern to our team soon!
Miscellaneous life updates:
We are under contract on the sale of our home in Michigan! We will be returning to Michigan prior to closing to disassemble the house. The buyers did buy some of the furniture. As for the rest, Ty will be creating an Instagram page dedicated to the sale of everything else! If you are local to West MI, stay tuned.
We also just sold two lots that we owned up in Northern Michigan. It’s a long story that we will have to share one day soon!
When we were in Michigan this summer, I chopped off half of my hair. I have had long hair for nearly my entire life. I was feeling so overstimulated by toddler messes, life maintenance, a never-ending task list, and too much tech! I needed to simplify, and the long hair was the first to go. I went into the salon feeling that I would regret it. Well, it’s been a month…and I’m loving it! Going even shorter next time.
Growing older is waking up one day and realizing that all of your shoes are out of style. While I may know the latest trending tile or cabinetry color, I feel a step or two behind when it comes to fashion trends these days. Life just moves so fast now. I am loving this new pair!
Which brings me to my next point…pants. I finally found some wide leg pants that don’t make me look like a tree trunk.
We bought this fun letter mat for the kids and they are loving it!
Our close friends recently visited for a weekend and told us that they always look forward to our latest snack finds. Currently, our pantry is stocked with Elemental Bars, Urban Remedy cookie bites, and Mid Day Squares.
Now that it’s almost fall, I’ve begun making soup again. This is by far our family’s favorite recipe! It is packed with immunity boosting ingredients. I also throw in collagen or cook in bone broth to make it extra nutritious.
Yes, it is 80° and I am calling it fall. I’ve been wearing pants and will throw on a sweatshirt in the evening when it hits 76. I’ve only been a Floridian for about nine months and my body is already acclimating to the climate. I will never not giggle when I feel a chill at any temp over 60!
This weekend, we are tackling a long list of to-dos and hope to enjoy some time at the beach (between the Bama and FSU games, of course). Hopefully we will get some sunshine this weekend…it has been a week of rainy days! Lulu (Ty’s mom) is also coming to town on Monday. We can’t wait to spend the week with her! Brooks is going to be so excited to see her, and Mom and Dad are looking forward to having an extra set of hands!
Happy weekend!
