Little 30A Getaway

We recently embarked on a little road trip to 30a, Florida. We blogged a 30a travel guide here. As described in our travel guide, 30a is truly a special place, especially for anyone with a deep love for home design! The curated neighborhoods, unique architecture, and West Indie color schemes are unexplainably dreamy. Today, we're sharing a few snippets of our most recent trip. Honestly, we love this place so much that we want to share it with everyone, while simultaneously want to keep it a complete secret so that it doesn't get too busy, ha! One of these days I may delete all 30a content for that selfish reason. TBD. she types while laughing nervously

As ya'll know, we've packed a lot of travel into our 4 years of marriage, mainly via long road trips. Seeing 48 states in such a short amount of time was an incredible experience, yet honestly it was exhausting! We joke that we are "getting old" as we find ourselves craving slower, simpler trips....they call it "relaxing," I think?

We find such solace in this place. Here our days here were as follows: 6am run (well, one of us!), followed by coffee and avocado toast on the Airbnb porch, and a walk on the beach. 9am-5pm consisted of remote work from the Airbnb, local coffee spot, or by the pool. We broke up the day with a beach walk during lunch. Once the laptops were packed away, we spent the remainder of the evening at the beach; reading, writing, walking, talking, planning, dreaming. That simple recipe was one we repeated every week day, and there is truly nothing better! Simplicity at it's finest!

30a consists of multiple little beach towns, one after another. Here are some snippets of Rosemary Beach, which is our favorite of the coastal towns! While I did bring my big camera down to FL, I didn't unpack it once, which was nice. As photogenic as this place is, it felt good to walk around without taking thousands of pictures like a mad woman. Ty appreciated this too, ha! (Obviously, I still snapped a handful each day on my phone!) Felt good to simply live in the moment.

And then there is Alys Beach, ah, Alys Beach. Can I have two favorites? We have walked these cobblestone streets many times; they never get old. My perfect day begins with a coffee from Raw & Juicy and a walk through Alys.

We stayed in this Airbnb, just outside Rosemary Beach (one street away, technically in Inlet Beach). We would love to own our own Airbnb one here on day....looking at properties may or may not be how Ty convinced me to make the drive in the summer heat, ha! This Airbnb, while small, was charming. We loved it.

I had never traveled South in the summer. If I'm honest, I didn't really want to go as I feared it would be way too hot for this Midwestern gal! Surprisingly, I loved the heat! It was perfectly temperate in the mornings and evenings. While the afternoon was quite hot and humid, it was tolerable due to the coastal breeze! A quick dip in the ocean was all that was needed to make the heat manageable!

The last couple of days of our trip, we linked up with our dearest friends who were visiting from Georgia! We ate, lunched, swam, and beached before Ty and I made the trek back home.

On this trip, we ate at all of our favorite local spots. We decided to compile those in a handy list for y'all!

La Cocina

Black Bear Bread Co.
